Caching & Real-Time vs. Static Sources
How RoadScope manages data currency for static and real-time intelligence sources.
6 min read
Two Source Types
RoadScope integrates both static and real-time data sources. Understanding the difference is important for accurate route planning.
Static Sources
Static sources are downloaded periodically and cached locally:
Real-Time Sources
Real-time sources are fetched live and cached briefly in memory:
Forcing a Refresh
To force a refresh of static cached data, go to Settings > Data Sources and click Refresh Cache for the desired source.
Data Currency Indicators
RoadScope displays a data currency timestamp for each active source in the map legend. Check this before relying on any source for live operational decisions.
